Uddingston is the town of the author's birth and features several photographs, taken by her in the early 1970s, of buildings and streets, such as Old Mill Road, Muiredge Street and Lizzie's sweetie shop, which were obviously about to disappear. Older images of the old town, Main Street and the Cross, Clydeneuk House, Crofthead Street, Loancroft poultry farm and Watson Street are also included as is an old picture of the cricket club the author found on waste ground many years ago!
